Troy Bilt - Troy built zero turn caught fire in rear of motor
My 18 year old son was mowing the lawn with my troy built zero turn mower when if caught fire. The mower decks were clean.
The fire started at the rear of the engine at the back of the mower. When I called the mfg. they said they would not cover the mower which was less than 3 years old still covered under an extended warranty my wife had purchased for the mower. I was told after the warranty company picked up the mower and looked at it.
I believe they shipped it to Maryland so an adjuster could access the damage. It was useless because they gave me the run around. They tried to tell me the deck belts started the fire. But you clearly can see the fire started in rear of mower on the engine deck.
They have since changed the entire set up of the oil drip pan and the muffler location of the zero turn pony/mustang mower to avoid law suits, and further claims from consumer. They forced me to claim their problems on my personal home owners policy. This is not right. Troy built needs to pay for my loss and everyone else's loss that has occurred by buying their product.
If someone out there can help me get my money and damages back. Please call me at the following number: 540-538-****
Monetary Loss: $2900.
Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia

My father-in-law just finished cutting his grass and cleaned his before putting it up in his storage house and it caught fire, melting the engine bagger and a lot of damage to his storage building, if it had been outside would burned completely up but could not get enough oxygen , could had been a huge backdraft when he opened the door because of the smoke coming out of vents. I just came on here to see how many others have had this experience.
